Emily
Emily, or "M", "Em", or "Emwat", as she is known to many, was born in the greater-L.A. area of Simi Valley, California. She gave her life and heart to Jesus at age 8, and has never looked back. Emily moved to Madison, Wisconsin, at the age of 13, for her freshman year of high school. While devastated by the move, she soon discovered that she was right on track to enter into her destiny. Her junior year of high school, two important things happened: 1) She was radically baptized in the Holy Spirit in her bedroom and 2) She bought a guitar and started teaching herself chords and worship songs.
By the end of her junior year, it was discovered by her classmates (and much to her own surprise as well), that she could sing, and had an ability to harmonize with rich, warm tones that was unlike anyone else at her local high school. She began leading worship at her church's small youth group. By her senior year, she quickly gained favor as she joined choir, the jazz ensemble group, and the school's worship team that led the weekly chapels. By her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she was tapped as her student ministry's worship leader. During her four years of leading worship at Chi Alpha, she developed her skills both worship leading, singing, and playing the guitar, forming a close-knit band, loosely referred to as Glory to Glory.
Her senior year of college, while leading worship at a youth retreat in Payson, Arizona, Emily was called to move to the Phoenix Valley and join Two Rivers Church. Emily graduated in 2009 with a degree in Religious Studies, and moved to Arizona to live with the pastor's family and help with the youth worship team. God had his hand on her, and increased her sphere of influence and her favor with the church, and soon she was leading Sunday morning worship once a month, and then later, twice a month.
She currently heads up worship for the youth group, raising up musicians, guitarists, and worship leaders among the youth. She continues to lead worship every other week at Two River Church, and is now writing songs with Leslea and Jesse.
